Me

Hi, I'm Maddie McDonald. I am a senior at the University of Georgia, majoring in Public Relations at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, and I will be moving to New York City in June to begin the next chapter of my career in the communications and events industry. I was born and raised in Athens, Georgia, which has made me extremely familiar with the area and a lifelong, die-hard UGA fan. I grew up running around with a camera and carried that passion with me into college, where I developed a strong interest in visual storytelling, branding, and digital content.

Being from the Athens area, I have worked with local boutiques, modeling for their websites and social media while also connecting with content creators around the country to help expand brand reach and consumer engagement. These experiences taught me how to build authentic relationships and collaborate effectively with individual creators. I have also worked with a Relais & Châteaux property in Highlands, North Carolina, in their weddings and event sales department, where I helped manage Instagram content and redesign catering menus. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate with different audiences and tailor messaging in ways that resonate with specific client bases.

Additionally, through a remote internship with Rafanelli Events, I gained experience in luxury event planning by attending masterclasses with leading industry professionals, researching premier New York City venues, creating venue presentations, and developing a wedding design concept deck based on professional feedback. This opportunity further solidified my interest in high-end events and strengthened both my creative and logistical planning skills.
